The FilterMate Filtration System provides a convenient and inexpensive method of filtration requiring no transfer steps. The FilterMate fits directly into the digestion vessel and is pushed through the liquid being filtered to the bottom of the cup with a detachable plunger. After filtration is complete, the plunger is removed and discarded while the filter assembly remains in the bottom of the cup. This arrangement does not interfere with storage or use of the vessel in an autosampler. FilterMates are available with different choices of filters for specific filtration needs.
The FilterMate works like a French Coffee press. Simply bring your sample to volume in the SC475 cup, insert the filter down into the sample, and remove the detachable plunger. Sample is now ready for analysis or to be capped for storage.
SC0401 is our standard 5µm PTFE-faced polypropylene filter. SC0401 has the highest dirt holding capacity and is suitable for most laboratory applications.
The SC0407 is our 0.45µm PTFE membrane filter. SC0407 FilterMate utilizes a PTFE prefilter in addition to a 0.45µm final filter. This model is not recommended for particulate laden samples.
For filtering small volumes of TCLP extract, we offer the SC0404 FilterMate with prewashed glass fiber filter material suitable for TCLP filtrations. The 0.7µm filter is acid washed per EPA Method 1311 and comes with a certificate of analysis.
