Standard 10 mm Light Path Cells (8490D11, D41, D56)

The minimum working capacity of these Spectro Cells is 3 mL , which is the volume of liquid required to clear the top of the light beam when used in standard cell carriers.

Square, Unmasked, Micro and Semi-Micro, 10 mm Light Path Cells (8490A05, A07, A09, A11, S04, T21, S51)

  • Internal width: 2-4 mm (approx.)
  • Approximate outside dimensions: 12.5 x 12.5 x 46 mm high
  • Nominal working volume as shown in listing
  • Flared at top to assist filling

Micro cells (8490A05-A11) are for use when available sample volume is less than the volume required for standard square cells. The nominal working volume of these cells is as little as 20% of that for standard cells of the same path length. Required volume of the Semi-Micro cells (8491S04, T21, T22, S51 and S52) of 0.9 mL can be reduced by elevating the cell so long as the light beam does not strike the walls of the cell. If beam width of spectrophotometer approaches 4 mm, a suitable self-masking cell should be used.

8490A07 and A11 cells should only be used with instruments that have a 15 mm "Z" dimension or greater, not an 8.5 mm "Z" dimension.

Square, Self-masking, Micro and Semi-micro, 10 mm Light Path Cells (8491V65, W05, W20, W35)

  • Internal width: 2-4 mm (approx.)

Similar to 8490A05 - 8491S52 series above, but with black self-masking walls and bottom plate which absorbs all direct and scattered light for improved sensitivity.

Short, Micro, 0.25 mL, 10 mm Light Path (8491V30)

  • Self-Masking, with black walls and bottom plate which absorbs all direct and scattered light
  • Normal working volume: 0.25 mL ; range: 170 to 2,600 nm
  • Inside Width: 2 mm

Outside dimensions: 12.5 x 12.5 x 25 mm high. Inside width: 2 mm, flared at top to assist filling. Bottom thickness: 3 mm, with Teflon® cover. May require modifications of standard cell carrier to accommodate short cells.
